What conditions do you treat?
I have experience in treating depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, and sleep-related issues. These conditions, amongst others, may manifest as worry, restlessness, persisting sadness, apathy, sleep impairment, poor concentration, an abrupt change in mood lasting for weeks, difficulties managing irrational thoughts and behaviors, and experiencing visions or voices.
Are there any conditions and services that you don’t manage?
I am unable to assist with service animal forms, matters relating to legal issues, firearms evaluations, workers compensation evaluations, severe personality disorders, and severe addiction disorders. Medication management of ADHD is performed if there is well-established clinical documentation of ADHD (with notes and/or testing to reflect the diagnosis), ideally since childhood. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis and at the discretion of the provider.
What insurances do you accept?
HMSA (HMO, PPO, and Akamai Advantage) and UHA are currently accepted. I am in the process of obtaining credentialing for HMAA, Medicare, and HMSA Quest and will update this section as the credentialing is completed. For patients who prefer not to go through insurance or do not have one of the currently accepted insurance types, private pay is available with a superbill that can be provided for out-of-network reimbursement (patients will need to check with their insurance to see if superbills are accepted). Private pay rates are determined by the length of visit as well as complexity of care, ranging from $150-$450 per session. For more information on these rates, please feel free to contact me.
How are appointments conducted?
Telehealth as well as in-person appointments are offered. I am unable to accommodate walk-ins. Telehealth appointments require that patients must be in Hawaii at the time of the appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
We request that cancellations and rescheduling be made 48 hours notice ahead of the scheduled appointment time. If a patient has multiple cancellations within 48 hours of their appointment and/or multiple “no shows,” they will be asked to establish care with another provider.
How can I schedule an appointment with you?
For established patients, please email info@laurenwatanabe.com or call 551-333-346. For new patients, please use any of the above modalities or the Contact page.
